3D Metal Printing has been launched

2022/11/25

In October, we installed a metal 3D printer named “MX3D M1 System” at our Ryuko plant which was supplied by MX3D in Netherlands. The M1 system is based on the Robotic WAAM (Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing) Printing System where an industrial welding robot deposits metal layer-to-layer to build a workpiece. Therefore, it is possible to print large products up to W 2.2m x D 1.4m x H 1.7m.

For these years, we have been promoting SDGs activities, and the installation of the 3D metal printer is an important initiative from the viewpoint of SDGs because this new process can contribute to the reduction of material loss by means of its net-shape printing. (SDGs Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production)

Moreover, from another viewpoint of SDGs, we have designed and built a “Satellite Office” in the workplace where the 3D printer is installed. Thanks to its quiet and comfortable atmosphere, we are expecting that our engineer will make a good job when creating software to control the robotic welding.
